Spring Break 2010

For Wally's spring break he surprised me with a trip to San Diego!
It was perfect. 76 degree weather, sand and sunshine and my 2 favorite people!
Below is a picture of us on our patio outside our hotel room. We stayed on Shelter Island in the Island Palms Hotel. We could see the ocean from every direction.
Across the street there was a park we played at in the morning!

We went to Sea World. Cole loved the shows. He was laughing and clapping at the seals and walruses.

He screamed all through the Shamu show and the mean lady in front of us made me so mad I gave her the meanest look and had to move spots. For crying out loud it's an outdoor stadium and a childrens show not the opera!
Other than that Sea World was awesome. It is amazing and makes me feel like a little kid again.

We went to the beach and watched the sunset. This was Wally's first trip to California and his first time at the ocean. We dipped our feet in the water. It was freezing! But now I can't make fun of Wally for never seeing the ocean.

Cole was so funny. He refused to touch the sand. He thought it was to dirty. We seriously tried so hard to get him to play in it but he wanted nothing to do with it.It looks like he's giving me hugs, but he's hanging on for dear life. He really didn't like the sand.

Cole and Wally watching the sunset over the ocean on Pacific Beach.

Me, Wally and Cole same place.

Our initials in the sand.

This is us overlooking Point Loma at Cabrillo National Monument. There was huge military ships, tons of fishing boats, surfers, sailors and sand. Funny thing is I was at this same place 4 years ago (click to see picture) with just the single gals. Boy how life has changed.

This is me at 32 weeks. I had very swollen ankles and a very sore tummy from walking so much. The Point Loma lighthouse is in the background.

This is Cole and Wally at Corona del Mar. He still wouldn't touch the sand.

The water was still freezing but Wally took a dip clear up to his shoulders.
It was my perfect 3 day trip. I love California so much. The beach is my happy place.

Oh my heck you have the cutest maternity shirts! I LOVE them! also I love that you went to Cali, I also love it there and can hardly wait to go again. Seaworld is TOTALLY cool, and I can't believe that an lady was mean about being loud at a Shamu show, if she didn't want be somewhere loud then she should have stayed at her hotel. Again, I am so jealous and I am so glad you had fun

What a fun trip! I think it's so funny that Cole wouldn't touch the sand - Elizabeth was the same way last summer, but she had always loved it before that. You look great and I can't wait to see pictures of the baby!
