For Emsy (and everyone else but mostly for emsy)

My dear sister Emily lives in DC (she's winning over the world one senator at a time) and told me I needed to post more. (of course she's right) So this post is because I'm thinking of and missing her.

Below is Cole and Avery. Trying to get a picture of a 2 year old holding a 2 month old is nearly impossible but we succeeded (kind of).Cole at Grandma's house. Cole likes to do things on his own timescale. He was very cautious of the water and took his time deciding it was ok to play in the pool.
Then he decided that he needed to be naked in the pool. In fact every time he goes to a pool he thinks he needs to be naked. He throws some pretty nasty tantrums when i try to put his suit on him.
Heidi thought is was fun to play in the pool with the kids. You can tell by my face that the pool was a little to cold for my liking.

After swimming I was sipping a coke on the patio while Grandpa warmed Cole up. I looked across the table and they were both doing this.... Cole definatly takes after his names sake. (Cole Steven for those wondering)

Of course it would not be a trip to Grandpa's without a ride on Quick Silver. Here is Grandpa, Jared, Cole and his great friend cousin Xander.

While they rode the horse Avery hung out with Grandma. (Emily she's giving you a hug)

My mission companion Laurel Lyman Hanks came to visit. It is so fun to get together with the gals i served with. Oh the memories..... She was my MTC companion and then served with me in Carthage Jail. I LOVED IT. We had such a blast giving tours to the thousands of people who came. At the end of the day we would also clean the Visitor Center including the bathrooms. YUCK it was so gross. But we laughed about it every night.

Leslie Judd (my awesome neighbor/friend) and I hosted the 2nd annual Neighborhood Firework Show. It turned out so so good. I didn't count but i would wager we had close to 100 neighbors. It was so much fun can't wait till next year.

Our family, Andrew, Avery, Leisa and Cole. We had blast. Andrew lit most of the fireworks for us while we just enjoyed the show and company of our neighborhood. When we were cleaning up i realized Cordi (the dog) wasn't in the house I yelled for her outside but she didn't come. She had run away. I imagine the fireworks scared her. I was just sick with worry. i walked up and down the streets yelling for her but she didn't come. So by 1130 i decided to stop looking and just then she came trotting up the driveway. Another neighbor told me a few days later she ran into their yard and was hiding under his legs.
