Rag doll and Valentines

One day Cole decided to climb into his Dad's boots. He had to hang on to the high chair so he wouldn't fall over.

My Mom made me this totally awesome patchwork quilt i got for my 8th birthday. I recall opening the box, seeing the quilt and crying because i didn't get the doll i wanted. Little did i know then it would be my most loved birthday present ever. So loved in fact that 21 years later it was pretty much rags. I've asked my mom several times over the years if she could fix it. She basically laughed and told me to throw it way. I even patched a lot of it up by myself over the years. Well, after seeing the cool doll my sister Heidi made with Jared's old blanket, I decided that maybe i could part with mine as long as i had a memento of it.

So Heidi came up on Friday and we finished destroying my blanket to make this awesome rag doll. I love it. I think the words Wally used to decribe it was "interesting". It's now sitting on my mantle.

Grandma Hardman sent Cole a dollar for Valentines day. He wasn't quite sure what it was for but he loved that he got a card in the mail.

Valentines day was AWESOME! Wally kept the kitchen clean all day for me. He also let me sleep in till 945. He got a neighbor to babysit and took me out for dinner. It really was a perfect day. (well i should say a perfect day before Valentines we did all this on the 13th because the 14th was a Sunday). Below is a picture of us before we went to dinner.

I love the rag doll! Maybe someday Zoe will make one out of the blanket I made for her. Megan still has a blanket I made for her when she was little. For awhile there it was one of Zoe's favorites.

That's a cute idea for the blanket! I was TOTALLY a blankie baby, and am slightly embarrassed to say that I slept with mine until I was married:) Mine, however, is a pretty gross color of green and would NOT make a cute doll.
