from rags to riches

Anyone who knows Wally, knows he loves waterfowl hunting.
The summer we were dating he built this water fowl blind. It holds about 4 guys comfortably.

Well he and his waterfowl buddies decided that they were getting busier and busier and poorer and poorer and if they wanted a bigger blind they better build it now.
I think the dimensions are 12x24 and about 6 feet tall.

It's built on an island in the river . And buried it in the ground so it's covered and the waterfowl won't be able to see them in it. This is Nick and Jason .The door to get in is on top. Andrew and Cole are going inside.

On the left is the drop down doors the hunters jump out of to shoot. On the right they're going to have a camp stove and heaters and it's totally covered from the elements.

You can see they have a step up so they can get out of the dropdown doors to shoot better. They have 8 doors so at least that many people can hunt at the same time. But there will be room in the blind for more guest, a housekeeper and a chef.

Wally putting in proper venting stuff..Me with sleeping Cole

My Favorite part of the day is when we saw a storm coming so Wally and I went inside the blind and ate our picnic lunch while it poured rain around us. (Nick and Jason had left)These are the drop down doors from the top side!! This blind will hopefully last forever. Wally and his friends have made it waterproof and everything. And that's how a blind has gone from rags to riches.

Okay, that thing is awesome! It's huge. I think I even got to experience the 4-man blind on Christmas morning a few years ago. This new one is NICE! And, it even comes with a housekeeper and chef.... wait, room for a housekeeper and chef ;)

Love the pictures!!!
